Biennale College - Theatre / Screenings of 22 movies of Monditalia
The visitors attending the 14th International Architecture Exhibition Fundamentals, directed by Rem Koolhaas, will have the opportunity to join, during these months, a series of initiatives taking place in the context of the Monditalia exhibition at the Corderie, Arsenale:1. Meetings on Architecture (July 25th > November 23rd)
2. Open rehearsals of Biennale College-Theatre (July 30th > August 10th)
3. Screening of 22 movies of Monditalia (August 15th > November 21st)
The seven stages of the Monditalia exhibition will host various activities, involving for the first time all the sectors of la Biennale in the Architecture Exhibition.
This year Meetings on Architecture, organized by la Biennale di Venezia, will be enriched by the Weekend Specials and Freeport, both conceived as part of the Monditalia exhibition. The Weekend Specials are meetings coordinated by Monditalia’s participants and other contributors, held during the weekends. The Freeport programme is organized by the National Participations to match their Pavilions’ exhibitions with a series of meetings that will animate the Arsenale on weekdays, as a counterpart to the Weekend Specials program.
On August 1st and 2nd, visitors will have the opportunity to meet director Rem Koolhaas on the occasion of the Weekend Special titled Friday in Venice.
22 of the overall 82 films of the Monditalia section will screen full-length at stage F of the Corderie, which from August 15th to November 21st will be transformed in a cinema hall with 4 screens, one for each side of the stage. Visitors can join the projection of the movies from different perspectives in the space, which becomes itself an active element of the scenographic sequence of images and people. Some titles, among others: Stromboli by Rossellini, Il Vangelo secondo Matteo by Pasolini, and Profondo rosso by Dario Argento.
Visitors have now the opportunity to use free audio-guides of the Biennale Architettura 2014. The audio-guides are available on request at the ticket offices of Arsenale and Giardini.
