1000 questions for the new generation in the performing arts
Venice, 20 November 2012

What is the meaning and the future of live performance Festivals?
What questions should remain open, for consideration by the new generations of artists?

These are the two major topics of discussion at the one day meeting organized at the conclusion of the activities of the European Network of Performing Arts. We have chosen to follow the recommendation of Àlex Rigola, the director of the Theatre Biennale, to proceed by enquiry, with systematic and open questions.
With the contribution of all the artistic directors involved in the Network, we felt it was important to open the debate on unresolved issues, entrusting to those who will come “after” – those who are just beginning their creative careers – a series of themes on the roster. 1000 Questions for the New Generation: this is the cue for analysis, the creative game, the magmatic, irreverent list, the call to action for those who will step forward as the protagonists of the international scene.
