La Biennale di Venezia has renewed its mission in every one of its fields. In addition to its work in promoting knowledge among the general public (Exhibitions and Festivals), it has introduced a strategic programme for training young artists, the Biennale College. The programme is already operating in the areas of Dance, Theatre and Cinema. Fostering young talents, allowing them to work in contact with masters in order to develop “creations”: this is the spirit of the Biennale College, a well-equipped “bridge” that gives young people that want to engage in one of the arts to do so in the best conditions that an international institution can provide.

 

After the experience of Arsenale Danza, starting from 2013 the Dance Section presents the new project of its Director Virgilio Sieni. At his own discretion, the Director will select  those applicants who respond to the aims and requirements of the four courses which form part of his 2013-2015 artistic project.

The Biennale College – Dance Living in the world _ Transmission and Practices  is divided into different paths and is addressed to dancers, choreographers, small companies with previous experience in dance techniques, especially contemporary dance. The aim of the Biennale College – Dance is to initiate a founding reflection on the body, understood as man’s journey to discover his function. Dance reminds us not so much of our relationship with the past, but of the very nature of man and the existing.

Deadline for appplications: The material containing the documentation in digital format must be sent no later than 15th April 2013. Director Virgilio Sieni will make the selection at his own discretion. The applicants will be informed about the results by 26th April 2013.
