Biennale College Choreographers - Three new creations

In 2017, Marie Chouinard introduced the art of choreography into the disciplines of the Biennale College Danza for the first time. Since then, 6 original short choreographic works have been produced. The winners of the 2019 international call are Adriano Bolognino, 24 years old from Naples, Sofia Nappi, 25 years old from Florence, and Rima Pipoyan, 31 years old from Armenia. Each of them has been entrusted with the creation of a free original piece lasting about 20 minutes. To this end, the three selected choreographers worked in Venice for 6 consecutive weeks with 7 professional dancers. In the various phases of research and elaboration of the 3 original creations, the choreographers worked with the following experts: Marc Crousillat in relation to the Trisha Brown method, Guy Cools for dramaturgy, Catherine Schaub Abkarian as the “independent eye”, and Simone Derai for stage direction and set design.
