Earths to Come is an enveloping work that seeks to salve the last wounds on our post pandemic hearts by exploring the seductive and destructive nature and power of Desire, outside of phallocentric norms. Launching from a modest Emily Dickinson poem, this immersive multi-user VR theatre experience brings together the art of an experimental animator, vocal band, composer and a creative producer—each known for pushing the boundaries.
Earths to Come, soaringand delicious, is a communal experience that seeks to salve the last lingering wounds on our post pandemic hearts, including mine. Earths to Come is non-linear visual and aural storytelling exploring vastness and insularity, doubt and assurance, longing and desire through spatialized vocal sounds and images. And while the work seeks to comfort, it also looks to disrupt. With VR Theatre we are bringing the audience to the fore, discarding the isolation of the solo user. Our audiences will be interacting, bathed in the same soundscape, sharing the experience. Moving my work into immersive cinema feels like a creatively radical act.
