Venice Immersive

Venice Immersive is the Extended Reality section of the 81st Venice International Film Festival of La Biennale di Venezia (August 28th - September 7th 2024).

Venice Immersive is entirely devoted to immersive media and includes all XR means of creative expression: immersive videos and XR works of any length, including installations, haptics and virtual worlds.

The Venice Immersive section of the 81st Venice International Film Festival takes place on the Venice Immersive Island (Isola del Lazzaretto Vecchio), located in front of Riva di Corinto in Lido di Venezia.

The 2024 Venice Immersive selection is composed of a total of sixty-three projects (eight 360° videos, fifteen standalone VR projects, seventeen installations, twenty-three VR worlds on VRChat) from twenty-five countries, divided as follows:

  • 26 projects in Competition
  • 30 projects in the Best of Immersive section divided into 10 Best of Experiences and 20 Best of Worlds
  • 7 projects in the Biennale College Cinema Immersive section

Access

The 2024 Venice Immersive selection is accessible to all 81st  Venice International Film Festival accreditation pass holders on the Venice Immersive Island (Isola del Lazzaretto Vecchio).

There is also a dedicated Venice Immersive accreditation reserved to people over 18 years of age that grants access to the projects of the section and is available in three formats:

2-DAYS Venice Immersive accreditation (€ 40): valid for 2 days
5-DAYS Venice Immersive accreditation (€ 60): valid for 5 days
10-DAYS Venice Immersive accreditation (€ 100): valid from 28th August to 7th September

The viewing of the experiences of the Venice Immersive official selection is available upon reservation only, every day from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm from 28th August to 7th September.

Throughout the whole festival a free waterbus shuttle service connects Riva di Corinto in Lido di Venezia to the Venice Immersive Island. The crossing takes only 3 minutes.

For pass holders who use a wheelchair, the access to the Venice Immersive Island and to the experiences of the Venice Immersive section, is possible by writing to biglietteria.cinema@labiennale.org indicating: the accreditation code, the details of the experiences to book and any additional requirement. The request must be made at least 48 hours in advance.

Reservations

All pass holders can access the Venice Immersive selection on the Venice Immersive Island through online reservations on the 81ST Venice International Film Festival pass holders booking platform.

Press previews will be on August 27th.

Press, Industry and Venice Immersive pass holders can book experiences taking place from August 28th.
All other pass holders can book experiences taking place from August 29th.
