Luke George & Daniel Kok - Still Lives #5 (Gondola)

Luke George and Daniel Kok look at how rope can embellish an object and endow it with subjective qualities, and also conversely how when bound, a person becomes objectified, even commodified. Their rope installation series, “Still Lives” queers human dynamics in rope bondage by rendering strange again the hierarchies of subjecthood and objecthood.
For Still Lives #5, they will tie up a Venetian gondola and a gondolier at Via Garibaldi.
