“Taking care of the planet as we do of ourselves and to celebrate the culture of encounter.”
Pope Francis’s encyclicals Laudato si’ and Fratelli tutti are the inspirations for the exhibition, curated by Roberto Cremascoli, which guides visitors through the gallery and garden of the Benedictine Abbey of San Giorgio Maggiore.
Social Friendship: Meeting in the Garden is the result of a collaboration between the Dicastery for Culture and Education and Benedicti Claustra Onlus. It begins with O Encontro, an installation designed by Álvaro Siza. This area will be transformed into a vegetable garden and gathering place by Studio Albori, who have also designed a lemon house, a chicken coop, a seed store, and the parasols.
