The 80th Venice International Film Festival is organised by La Biennale di Venezia and will be held on the Lido di Venezia from 30 August to 9 September 2023. The Festival is officially recognised by the FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Association).

The aim of the Festival is to raise awareness and promote international cinema in all its forms as art, entertainment and as an industry, in a spirit of freedom and dialogue. One section is devoted to enhance the restoration works on classic films as a contribution towards a better understanding of the history of cinema, in particular to the advantage of young audiences.

The line-up includes the following sections: Venezia 80, Out of Competition, Orizzonti, Orizzonti Extra, Biennale College Cinema, and Venice Classics.

The autonomous and parallel sections, whose line-up is selected in accordance with their own regulations, include the Settimana Internazionale della Critica and the Giornate degli Autori.

There are 5 Juries at the 80th Venice International Film Festival:
Venezia 80, Orizzonti, Premio Venezia Opera Prima “Luigi De Laurentiis”, Venice Immersive, and Venice Classics.

The official awards were presented on Saturday 9th September 2023 during the Awards Ceremony.
