Venice Immersive is the Extended Reality section of the 80^th Venice International Film Festival of La Biennale di Venezia (August 30^th - September 9^th 2023).

Venice Immersive is entirely devoted to immersive media and includes all XR means of creative expression: 360° videos and XR works of any length, including installations and virtual worlds.

The Venice Immersive section of the 80^th Venice International Film Festival takes place on the Venice Immersive Island (Isola del Lazzaretto Vecchio), located in front of Riva di Corinto in Lido di Venezia.

The 2023 Venice Immersive selection is composed of a total of forty-three projects (five 360° videos, twenty-one standalone VR projects, fifteen installations, two VR worlds on VRChat) from twenty-five Countries, divided as follows:

• 28 projects in Competition
• 9 projects in the Best of Immersive section
• 6 projects in the Biennale College Cinema VR section

In addition to the above, a selection of 24 virtual worlds is presented in the Worlds Gallery accessible through curated world-hop tours on the Venice Immersive Island.

The 2023 Venice Immersive selection is accessible to all 80^th Venice International Film Festival accreditation pass holders on the Venice Immersive Island (Isola del Lazzaretto Vecchio).

There is also a special Venice Immersive Subscription available for interested visitors who are not accredited to the Festival.

The viewing of the experiences of the Venice Immersive official selection is available upon reservation only, every day from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.

Throughout the whole festival a free waterbus shuttle service connects Riva di Corinto in Lido di Venezia to the Venice Immersive Island. The crossing takes only 3 minutes.

For pass and subscription holders who use a wheelchair, the access to the Venice Immersive Island and to the experiences of the Venice Immersive section, is possible by writing to biglietteria.cinema@labiennale.org indicating: the accreditation code, the details of the experiences to book and any additional requirement. The request must be made at least 48 hours in advance.

All accreditation pass holders can access the Venice Immersive selection on the Venice Immersive Island through online reservation on the 80^th Venice International Film Festival pass holders booking platform.

Press previews will be on August 29^th.

Press and Industry pass holders can book experiences taking place from August 30^th.
All other pass holders can book experiences taking place from August 31^st.

Guide to reservations for pass holders

Visitors who are not accredited to the 80^th Venice International Film Festival may request a Venice Immersive Subscription. It gives access to the Venice Immersive selection, on the Venice Immersive Island, starting from August 31^st.

The Venice Immersive Subscription is reserved for people over 16 years of age and is available in two formats:

5-DAYS Venice Immersive Subscription (€ 60): valid for 5 days

FULL Venice Immersive Subscription (€ 90): valid from August 31^st to September 9^th

Online reservation of each viewing is mandatory for both Accreditation and Venice Immersive Subscription holders. It is possible to reserve slots for the viewing of each Venice Immersive experience, online on the 80^th Venice International Film Festival booking platform.

Venice Immersive subscribers reservation guide

The Venice International Film Festival continues, for the third year, to celebrate the virtual world building community. The Venice Immersive official selection features the Worlds Gallery, a collection of 24 virtual worlds, which is experienced as part of guided tours called 'world hops'.
