synopsis
Ana and Oscar are 30 years old and are in the midst of fleeing. Oscar, stuck with a crappy medical contract, is still hooked on his ex. Ana, without a partner or a job, feels lost and plans to move away. But on 1 January 2016, they meet and fleeing loses its meaning. Over the next ten years, they will have to face the passage of time and the decisions they make.
director's statement
Los años nuevos ends up talking about life, and I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say that the audiovisual experience the viewer will have while watching the series, will closely resemble the contemplation of two ordinary people’s lives as they grow. It’s as if we were given a summary of our last ten years of life condensed into seven and a half hours of footage, featuring the key moments, the dull parts and the memorable experiences.
