The Co(te)lette Film
Description
The Co(te)lette Film (2010, Festival of Ghent), a film adaptation of Co(te)lette, Ann Van den Broek’s stage work, made by British director Mike Figgis, has won awards at film festivals in Los Angeles (USA), Nicosia (CYP), Brussels (BE) and San Francisco (USA). In the film, three women dance in a rather intimate atmosphere, caught between desire and fulfilment. No confrontation, rivalry, story, solution or ending; the storyline in The Co(te)lette Film is restless and empty.
The Co(te)lette Film is a co-production of Savage Film, a company based in Brussels; the British Red Mullet; WArd/WaRD (NL/B) and the Dutch NTR. It was made with the financial support of the Nederlandse Mediafonds (Dutch Media Foundation) and the Vlaams Audivisueel Fonds (Flemish Audiovisual Foundation).
