Composer, musician and conductor, Paolo Buonvino (1968) blends his knowledge and studies of the classics with contemporary music. Originally from Sicily, he was born and grew up in Scordia, in the province of Catania. He graduated in piano from the Conservatorio “Francesco Cilea” in Reggio Calabria and continued his music studies at the University of Bologna. His career as a musician and composer began alongside that of Franco Battiato and then moved in the direction of writing music for the cinema and television.
Difficult to fit into a single music genre, the essence of Paolo Buonvino’s compositional style combines a classical structure with a natural inclination for pop, rock, world music and, especially, electronic music, which makes him one of the most eclectic musicians on the contemporary Italian scene.
