Sinossi
In The Fruit Tree a young woman, Sharleece, wanders through a house that is available to rent in the sleepy desert town where she lives, California City. Looking out of the window evokes unexpected memories of her childhood home in Los Angeles.
Director’s Statement
As a child, I often moved with my parents. The different houses form markings in time, bringing structure in the tangle of my memories. When a memory surprises me, it is like a door being opened. To the inside of an inside. The places we once inhabited eventually settle in our thoughts. The Fruit Tree is about these spaces, and what they mean to us.
