Funds and Collections

It collects over 164,000 books available in more than 900-linear-metre open shelves.

A rich collection of national and international magazines. The Fund collects over 3,000 periodicals, of which 200 are current.

Collection of posters, billboards and daily programs of almost all initiatives promoted by La Biennale.

This precious collection dates back to the beginning of the 20th century and includes works commissioned by La Biennale and presented at the various editions of the International Festival of Contemporary Music, or works acquired through donations.

Negatives on glass plates documenting the activities of La Biennale until the 1970s, from the '50s onwards, films are preserved. Also slides and digital media.

The Film Library gathers the reels of films (fiction and documentaries), presented during the various International Film Festivals since 1933.

The Media Library is composed of audio and video material and CD-Roms, to provide an overview of contemporary arts, and especially of the activies sponsored and organized by La Biennale, to students and researchers.

Collection of press articles regarding La Biennale, its events and the artists and professionals who have participated in it since 1895 to the 1970s.

The collection preserves the documentation produced by La Biennale: correspondence with artists, collections, institutional documents, regulations, minutes, acts regarding the preparation of the events.

This collection gathers the works of art that the Biennale has acquired during the course of its activity. 

Materials on the architecture competitions launched by the Biennale since 1985, and other materials collected later.
