The theme of travel, understood not only as moving physically and geographically, but as an idea of change, is the focus of a concert conceived specifically by Musica Nuda for the Biennale Musica 2017. Petra Magoni and Ferruccio Spinetti embark on a musical journey in which for the first time, they embrace the poetics of the ethnologist, Orientalist, photographer, mountain-climber, writer and poet Fosco Maraini (Florence 1912 – 2004), whose work has been defined over time as driven by the “ethic of curiosity” (Franco Cardini).
The Musica Nuda duo presents a repertory of pieces inspired by the imagery of travel, punctuated by the reading of excerpts from Maraini’s writings with the counterpoint of an “augmented instrument”, thus with the use of electronics on the double bass and the voice (with pedals, loop machine, distortion device and other effects).
