For years Dimitri the clown, in his role as Porteur, performed an act of memorable virtuosity and refined comic wit, interpreting the befuddled porter who cannot resist the temptation to peek into the luggage laden onto his cart. He is awestruck as he fishes out of them a variety of instruments, turning himself into a musician of the imagination. With an absurd, surreal touch, he uses his real talent as a musician and poly-instrumentalist with irresistible grace, going so far as to play four saxophones at once. For the extraordinary Dimitri, objects become pure poetry.
