Biennale College Musica 2020: call for composers and video artists under 35
Applications can be sent until Sunday 15 March.
Biennale College Musica 2020
Starting Thursday February 6th, the international call for the 7th edition of the Biennale College Musica is launched online. The call will remain open through Sunday March 15th. Following the production of 19 short chamber operas, for the year 2020 the call of the Biennale College Musica will select and develop up to 4 original compositions for an instrumentalist, electronics and real-time video presented by teams consisting of a composer and a video artist aged 35 and under.
The selected teams will develop their projects during a programme of training and production that will take place over the course of 6 weeks divided into three sessions – in April, July and September 2020, in Venice – coordinated by the Director of the Music Department Ivan Fedele assisted by a team of tutors dedicated to the various disciplines.
The electronic part will be produced at the headquarters in Venice of the CIMM, the Center for Computer Music and Multimedia of La Biennale di Venezia, which will provide the necessary hardware and software under the guidance of a computer music producer, a sound engineer, and a video designer, who will also be in attendance during the rehearsal and performance phases as the tutors of the selected young artists.
The original compositions, no more than 10 minutes long, will be presented as part of the 64th International Festival of Contemporary Music (25 September > 4 October).
