A tribute from a cult director, Wim Wenders, an artist-portraitist of artists, such as the Buena Vista Social Club from Cuba, or the great American blues musicians, to a brilliant choreographer, Pina Bausch (1940-2009), who with her Tanztheater Wuppertal brought extraordinary human, expressive and artistic richness to the stage, the invention of incredibly spectacular, complex and profound worlds. The filming, in both the theatre and in the city, indoors and outdoors, uses excerpts and interviews to review the most intense moments in several exemplary Bauschian Stücke: Le Sacre du Printemps, Café Müller, Kontakthof, Vollmond.
This is a film that celebrates a unique creativity, extreme hard work, an absolute devotion to the theatre, an immense love for dance.
