The Great Ghosts is adapted from “The Mechanics of History, an attempt to approach a point of suspension”, a living exhibition at the Pantheon. On the occasion of the 3rd “Monuments in Movement” season, Yoann Bourgeois entered the Pantheon. Fixed to the highest point of the dome, Foucault’s famous pendulum provides the medium for a choreographic creation around movement and balance. Using four forms of spectacular apparatus – trampoline, turntable, precarious balancing and the famous “Seesaw of Levity”, now installed in the monument – the dancer-acrobats, Foucault’s pendulum and the audience are the actors in a totally original ambulatory show about the theme: the world knows no rest in time, space, bodies, desires.
