Composer and conductor Ondřej Adámek, born in Prague in 1979 and now living in Berlin, composes orchestral, chamber, vocal and electroacoustic music and collaborates with contemporary dance choreographers. Ondřej Adámek has received numerous commissions for compositions from important festivals and orchestras such as the Oper Köln, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Donaueschinger Musiktage, the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, the Wittener Tage für neue Kammermusik, the Festival Musica Strasbourg, the Münchener Biennale, the Warsaw Autumn, as well as ensembles such as Klangforum Wien, Les Percussions de Strasbourg, the SWR Vokalensemble, the Ensemble Intercontemporain or the SWR Symphony Orchestra Baden-Baden and Freiburg. Ondřej Adámek has worked and still works as a conductor with, among others, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Ensemble Musikfabrik, Ensemble Modern, Ensemble Resonanz, Birming- ham Contemporary Music Group, Kammerensemble Neue Musik (KNM Berlin), Chorwerk Ruhr and ensemble Prague Modern. In 2018, Ondřej Adámek founded the vocal ensemble N.E.S.E.V.E.N., for which he also develops his own compositions and interdisciplinary programs in collaboration with other ensembles. From now till the end of June 2023 he lives in Villa Massimo, Rome, with scholarship from the German Academy.
