The round table will take place in the Sala del Chiostro dei Cipressi at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini and will offer a series of reflections upon trends and experimentation within music theatre of the twenty-first century, viewed in relation to emerging themes of the Biennale Musica 2022. The discussion will explore key questions of contemporary creativity: new conceptions of dramaturgy; the choice and assemblage of texts; different ways of understanding plot and character; treatment of the voice; the use of technology within artistic planning. By considering experiences gained both within and beyond conventional theatrical spaces in recent years, the aim is to delineate the current orientation of the production system as a whole.
