Description
Other Ways of Living Together inspects the country house in the rural landscape, which is often conventionally thought of as a luxury; and yet, one is reminded about how the social landscape of rural areas has changed in recent times. The necessity of social distancing brought forth by Covid-19, the possibilities of working productively online, and the dynamic nature of the family unit all point to the need for new forms of flexibility to live together. As such, this work offers varied configurations of programmatic adaptability that allow for total cohesion or relative autonomy for the various segments of the building. In this respect, the country house could serve as a Rural Apartment Cabin depending on how it is used.
