Based on the novel with the same title by Cornelia Funke

Bo and Prosper, two orphaned brothers, run away from their cruel aunt and uncle to not be separated. They end up in Venice, where they meet a gang of peers living on the streets and inside an abandoned cinema. The group leader is Scipio, known as the King of Thieves, who will involve them in an unforgettable adventure.

La regina della neve explores the intersection between narrative theatre and publishing. A book to touch and play with, enriched by a virtual experience, based on the fairy tale "The Snow Queen" by H. C. Andersen. For the best fruition of the workshop, we recommend an earlier reading of the fairy tale.

Curated by Eva Costa in collaboration with Luca Mucci Studio and Dromoscope Studio for the sound design, Sylvie McGowan for the book design and Tolja Djokovic for the dramaturgical consultation. For kids from 6 to 10
A colourful orchestra creates collective music activities; coloured bells, boom-whackers, violins are used to discover orchestra creativity. Participants will be guided by a playful activity to discover freedom of movement, sounds, colours, and the beauty of art.

PLAYFUL JUMPING FIGURE
(accompanying parent or guardian required)
For kids from 4 to 7
An artist's workshop to create a puppet with movable legs and arms. It has the potential to be an animal or a person, but even a mythical and fantastic creature, made with different and surreal techniques.
With Clara Gazzari and Sara-Christin Richter.
This initiative was made possible thanks to the support of Cornelia Funke and Centro Tedesco di Studi Veneziani.

MONOTIPO – PRINT ON GELLI PLATE
For kids from 8 to 12
An artist's workshop to become familiar with the monotype technique, which produces unique and individual prints. The students will work with different types of natural and recycled materials and discover both abstract and figurative approaches to the technique.
With Anne Zaghow and Jessica Frascht 
This initiative was made possible thanks to the support of Cornelia Funke and Centro Tedesco di Studi Veneziani.

This hands-on workshop explores arts and stars. Kids will have the opportunity to bring their fantasies to life transforming translucent materials into cosmic shapes.

A workshop with a book to touch and play with and virtual audio

For kids from 6 to 10

The workshop follows the seven-stage journey of Gerda, protagonist of the fairy tale "The Snow Queen" by H. C. Andersen. The kids will be guided along the journey and encouraged to touch, discover, and interact with, the elements of the fairy tale. They will play with the book and challenge their imagination, creating new elements, landscapes and characters themselves. At the end of the workshop, each participant will receive the complete audio of the fairy tale, wrapped in a tiny snowflake.
For the best fruition of the workshop, we recommend an earlier reading of the fairy tale.

What is hiding behind the mirror and inside us?
Sometimes we turn into wolves when we are hungry, or into dormouse when we want to sleep all day long.
Starting from a sheet folded in two, as the border between two different moods, we will look at ourselves in the mirror and draw not only ourselves, but also the animal hiding inside us when we feel emotions.

Palazzo Vecchio, the city's government palace, stands in the heart of Florence, with its marvelous painted rooms: among these we find the Room of the Four Elements, celebrating Air, Earth, Water and Fire as the basic elements of the cosmos.
Thanks to a fantastic story that addresses cosmology and whose protagonist is one of the most fascinating figures of 16th-century Florence, participants will be involved in a journey aimed at inspiring both curiosity about the past and reflection on the contemporary world, discovering wonders which emerge from the intertwining of nature and genius. At the end of the activity, the kids will create a mask inspired by their favourite element to celebrate Carnival.

LE PATIN LIBRE

Le Patin Libre: special preview of the Biennale Danza 2024

Murmuration, by Le Patin Libre, is the show on ice presented by Biennale Danza as a special anticipation of its next edition (18 July > 3 August 2024). Performing in Italy for the first time, Le Patin Libre is a Canadian company that has reinvented ice shows by opening a heretofore unexplored territory of contemporary dance.
This exceptional opening will be part of the 15th International Kids Carnival and will be staged from 1 to 11 February at the Pattinodromo Arcobaleno in the Parco Albanese (Mestre), converted into an ice-skating rink for the occasion.
