Synopsis
Moussa has always been kind, selfless and there for his family. Unlike his brother Ryad, a highprofile TV presenter who is widely criticised for his egocentricity by those around him. His only defender is Moussa, who feels a great admiration for his brother. Then an accidental fall leaves Moussa with a serious brain trauma. Now unrecognisable, he talks without any filter, delivering brutal home truths to friends and family alike, and ends up falling out with everyone—except Ryad..
Director’s Statement
I didn’t decide to make this film, it was essential to me. I have never revealed such personal matters in my work before. Through this family portrayal, I wanted to share the dramas, conflicts, neuroses, pains and also moments of happiness, while avoiding the prism of culture or religion, in my view too present when talking about this generation of immigrant origin. Family is a refuge from which you must escape in order to reveal yourself.
This film is my love story with my people.
